Prince Rannon is viewed by his supporters to be the future of Malchior. A cunning diplomat and back of the field soldier, Rannon's strong grasp of tactics both on and off the battlefield make him a formidable commander.

However, some of the traditionalists in Malchior do not care for the Crown Prince, thinking he is not hardy enough of a warrior since he does not tend to lead his troops into battle. These factions instead favor the Prince's younger brother, Argus Hammerdoom, who seems the epitome of the strong armed warrior. Argus, himself, claims he does not want the responsibility of leadership.

Thus far, Prince Rannon has been able to ignore the traditionalists, and his marriage to the heir of the Kingdom of Holden, Myriad Buxtehude, caused his popularity to swell, as did the ascension of his father to the God Head Seat.

However, Myriad disappeared the very night of their wedding and has yet to reappear, causing tension between Malchior and its ally, Holden. Prince Rannon claims his wife is adventuring, but his excuses for her absence grow thinner every day as does his support base.

Prince Rannon is prince of Malchior and likely son and heir of King Hammerdoom. He was betrothed to Myriad Buxtehude of Holden as part of a negotiation to solidify Malchior's alliance with Holden against the Dread Army of Ixhasa.[1] However, he considered their marriage as merely "of strategic interest," and maintained a relationship with Arcanix sorceress Maj Amarynne before and after the wedding, eventually encouraging Myriad to quest for the Apple of Life.[2]
