Gabriel used to lead Chapter Alpha One. It was the highest rank a Brotherhood fields agent could hold. But after the Vancouver Disaster, with most of his team either dead or missing, they stripped him of his command and kicked him out of the only life he'd ever known. Silent Jim found him, cleaned him up and got him back on track. Together they built a new team from the castoffs that nobody else in the brotherhood wanted.
